Consultations & Specialty Services

  • Architect/Builder Consultations

In the Northeast, trees take longer to mature. Maple trees, for example, can take between 20 to 30 years to mature. Stress and damage causing a tree to die is often not apparent for many years after construction.

We work with contractors, architects, builders, and homeowners to assess existing trees and shrubs prior to construction to mitigate and lessen damage caused by construction equipment. Early preparation and care can make all the difference in saving a tree’s life and preserving the properties of existing beautiful woody plants and trees.

  • Hazard Assessments

The Northeast is no stranger to significant weather events, such as hurricanes, snow storms and strong winds. It can be important to assess whether a tree has become hazardous after such events to mitigate damage to other structures as well as the tree itself.

As Certified Arborists, we have received the ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification. Our specialist training includes both visual assessment and various tests including static load tests, soil analysis, disease and insect testing, etc.

  • Legal Consultations

In the past when a tree fell and caused damage, it was considered an “Act of God”. As the law has evolved, property owners have been found to be liable for injuries and damages caused by their trees.

There has been a national progression of cases and state statutes that deal with premises liability and the duties owed to guests and the public regarding any foreseeable problems from trees.

“The more slowly trees grow at first, the sounder they are at the core, and I think the same is true of human beings.”
