Why Heirloom?

Heirlooms are precious things passed down through many generations. Plants are no exception. The oldest tree on Earth, a bristlecone pine, is over 5,000 years old.

Managing trees, shrubs, and landscapes for longevity and beauty is the source of our company’s pride.

Our Focus, Mission & Daily Ethos

Established in 2013, our focus is on preservation-based Tree Care and Estate Management for clients who value beauty, legacy, and longevity.

Our mission is to accentuate the natural beauty of your property’s landscape by nurturing it’s health through the balance of horticultural science and the art of arboriculture.

We approach our work with a spirit of curiosity and collaborative discovery. Just like the trees we care for, we seek to nurture and establish long-lasting relationships with our clients.

Heirloom Tree Care is fully insured and happy to provide certificates of insurance upon request.

Chris Wood

Owner | ISA Certified Arborist | Tree & Shrub Preservationist

Chris is far from your typical “Tree Guy”. He’s best characterized as a Fine Arborist with a focus on Tree & Shrub Preservation. With both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Forestry Conservation and Conservation Biology, Chris’s impressive education and 24 years of experience supports the quality and care you will be awarded when working with Chris and his talented team at Heirloom Tree Care.

As you walk with Chris across your property, your orchards, your gardens, your estate forests, he will educate and enlighten you on the hidden treasures you possess, what makes them special and unique, and how best to ensure their longevity and harmony as an integral element of your landscape and property.

Chris approaches all new projects with a keen and skilled eye, scanning for possibilities, as well as hazards, to transform and maintain a healthy and symbiotic nature to your woody plants and overall landscape.

An insatiable learner, Chris’ curiosity about the plant kingdom began at an early age and lead him along paths of conservation, wildlife and woody plant research, forestry, and property stewardship.

His extensive knowledge of both native and horticultural plants and how they interact with each other and the landscape, allows him to work with clients to design landscapes that are cohesive, healthy, and beautiful.

In addition to running a thriving Fine Arboriculture business and spending time with his wife and young children, Chris gives back.

He was an Arboriculture Instructor at Essex Technical High School in Hathorne, MA. and has volunteered as a Mentor for Graduates Students in Conservation Biology at Antioch University in Keene, NH.
